Andrie Inc. has an immediate opening for a Fleet Engineer, and the position outlined below.
The Fleet Engineer supervises directly or indirectly subordinates (Chief Engineers, Relief Chief Engineers, Assistant Engineers) in the Engineering Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and evaluating employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as directed by the supervisor; providing the supervisor with project management support, budgets, and process optimization scenarios. Other tasks include planning, managing, and executing major repair periods including overhauls, retrofits, dry docking, and shipyard work. The position is domiciled in Muskegon, Michigan and requires up to 60% travel, for vessel visits, extended stays on projects at shipyards, repair facilities, etc.
Valid USCG MMC in the Engineering Department, DDE unlimited HP or higher, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related role. Preferred experience in Fleet Engineering, including a successful record of shoreside management. Must be able to lead and direct personnel in a positive and professional manner, and project the proper corporate image when representing the Company. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for this position.
