BP Names Karen Andrie and Endeavour 2010 Ship of the Year (Partner Fleet)

MUSKEGON, Michigan – Andrie Inc. is pleased to announce that the newest addition to our fleet, Tug Karen Andrie/Barge Endeavour, has been selected as BP Shipping’s "2010 Ship of the Year (Partner Vessel)".The award was announced by BP Shipping at the BP Shipping CEO HSSE Award Conference in London on February 23, 2011.

This award recognizes a single vessel and crew from among an International Fleet of well over 100 BP Shipping Chartered vessels. The award recognizes a vessel for efforts above and beyond expected performance levels with respect to HSSE (Health Safety Security Environment) and the creation of a HSSE culture onboard. Since its launch on March 5, 2009, the Tug Karen Andrie and Barge Endeavour have maintained both a zero lost time injury and spill free record.

Projects such as the installation of low emission and fuel efficient EPA Tier II engines and multiple enhancements to personnel access and protection systems make this vessel environmentally friendly and safe.

Accepting the award in London, Stan Andrie, President of Andrie Inc., thanked BP Shipping and the crew of the Karen Andrie/Endeavour for this prestigious recognition. “This award exemplifies the cooperative effort between the crew of the Karen Andrie, BP Shipping, and the Andrie shoreside staff to reduce our emissions and provide a safer working environment.”
